Subject: pinkfest A slight snag ...

I have one bit of bad news, gang. Shuckers (the restaurant we ate at on
Friday for Pinkfest 2001) has closed. I'm personally quite surprised and
disappointed, since I liked the place (in both modes) and they had been
around since (at least) the early 80's. In that location is now
something else, the t-friendliness of which is unknown. From a quick
drive-by last week, it kinda looked like it may be a sports bar, but I
dunno for sure.
Oh well, so it goes.
If anybody knows of any other places in the vicinity (River North) that
you think the group would like, please let us know. I know there are
tons of restaurants in the area.
I've heard the Chicago Chop House (few blocks west of where Shuckers
was) is good, but I've never been there and I cannot attest to the
quality of the food or the atmosphere. There are rumblings that it has
shady connections, but who knows and who cares. :) Lawry's is just down
the block from where Shuckers was, but, IMAO, the prime rib at Shuckers
was better.
The ubiquitous has a strong presence in that neighborhood, from Hard Rock
to Rainforest Cafe to Pizzaria UNO (the original, or so they say) and even
Hooters. :) Or should I say (.)(.) :) :) :)
As I think ahead, I think it may be a good idea to do Friday evening
dinner at Ed's, assuming we do either Gentry(Clark) and/or Baton on
Friday, since it is in the same general area. Eds has an atmosphere
that would be less intimidating to people who don't have many real-world
flight hours than someplace that's more mainstream in the area.
