Second single-track evening:
This is a special mid-cycle ORG mailing containing only the items
related to our second major gathering for our 2016 event. All other
received items will appear in the regular weekly ORG mailing.
Right now, comments and discussion are what we need most, particularly
along the following lines:
1. Thursday or Friday for the second major gathering?
2. The format? Single-venue or multi-track dining and single common
gathering after?
3. The specific venue(s) to be used.
Please go over the following options and say what you think.
If anyone has any other options they would like to be considered, now is
the time to do so.
Please join us in thanking those (Cami in particular) who have taken the
initiative to seek out options for our second major gathering for our
2016 event!
Comments, please!

I have been giving some more thought to our options for the dinner.
If we go Thursday night instead of calling it a farewell dinner we can
see if we can have some people who attend do some performances.
We could also move the limo till Friday night. I also just touched base
with a place called the venue its downtown and I'm waiting to hear back
from the sales person. Just curious as to what they would charge etc.

I suggest we consider Thursday as a Formal (notice it doesn't say
FAREWELL) dinner. We can dress to the 99s and go somewhere that is
already being researched by several volunteers. We would get the best
participation on Thursday versus Friday dinner plans.
Then, consider a softer FINAL (Again, it doesn't say FAREWELL) event on
Friday. As a multi-track suggestion, the RIO hotel with several
restaurants and the mini-golf might work here.

Margaritaville and other options:

Quick update. Let's rule Margaritaville out as they are not willing to
work with us on some of the check issues and who pays it cetera.
Yard House is still a good option but its on Thursday night.
I think Buca di Beppo is our best option price is 34 all in people can
buy their own drinks they will give me one large check but they are
willing to let everyone pay by credit card individually.
Sounds crazy but that's what they can do. Only negative is that it is
family style and the options will be somewhat limited to two pastas and
one entree unless I can get perhaps 5 tables with one of those menus and
another 5 tables with a different menu and people can kind of pick which
one works best.
If we have about 80 they can fit us all in one room.
There's no upfront fees other than I need to give them a credit card
number to just hold things. They want the final count a couple days
ahead which could work to our advantage.

My preference would be for a single venue closing on Friday, based on
the feeling that if the close is on Thursday, the fall off in attendance
for Friday will be higher than the 10% or so currently projected.
This is a mild preference, as I haven't booked my flight yet, and the
variation in cost for F/S/S departues is small (about $50 difference).
Right now, I'm leaning towards staying a few additional days, perhaps
with a Sunday departure. I'm hoping for a fare dip, and intend to
lock-in immediately if it occurs.

I am a big fan of the Yard House, I've eaten at the one in Town Square.
I was in a large group maybe about fifteen I found the service to be
very good, it was timely. It's been a few years, I think we did separate
checks but I don't remember so don't quote me on it. Having looked at th
menu for the Linq location it's very diverse, should satisfy a lot of
people.
I'm not familiar with this Carlos and Charlie's. Guess I'll have to stop
by for lunch.
I'm fine with the farewell dinner on Thursday.

I think this will work. Do they process separate checks? I've not been
in this particular Yard House, hopefully the entire facility will be
counted for purposes of making the minimum, I'd hate so see anyone
holding the bag at the end of the day. I'm not sure I'll be ordering $35
worth myself, I generally only order food with a tall glass of water on
the side.
Thursday should have much less traffic than Friday, the Linq is much
closer to the monorail than Caesars. I'll probably be going home with
Uber/Lyft myself, something that only just became available in September
of 2015.
Buca di Beppo has good food, but I'm not keen on the family style
service. It's seems more trouble than it's worth, given were all not
related. Would this be for Paradise Road or Excalibur Hotel locations?
I'm not really into the singing server thing though.
Would the menu at Carlos and Charlie's be diverse enough, I like a good
Mexican meal but I'm figuring some might not be into it. Let's keep the
choices as broad as possible.
I'm not real familiar with Margaritaville, but are we really trying to
fight the crowds on this one.
At least they're all near the Linq, and the monorail.

Yes, I did thank you. I just wanted to let you know that I am
recommending your restaurant but we do need to go through kind of the
clearing process so it may take a couple weeks to get a final
commitment. Is there any chance you can hold it for us and if you are
approached let me know right away? believe me I'm not trying to jerk you
around its just a process that we as a group go through.
+Thank you for thinking of Buca di Beppo on Flamingo & Paradise for
+your upcoming event on April 1, 2016! I have attached our banquet
+menus and bar packages for your consideration.
