Thursday plans:

It appears that we have plans in place just waiting for the trigger to
be pulled. This would be for a "fork lift and drop-in" of most of the
original plans to the Kings Of Hustler Club.

If anyone has any objection to considering this a done deal and placing
it on the schedule, please say so within the next list cycle (estimated
at two days).

Likewise, if anyone has any solid ready-to-pull-trigger plans for an
alternate venue or activity, please submit these within the next list
cycle. If so, we'll vote among the options.

Again, big thanks go out to Valorie, Kandi, Sue, and all who have done
the legwork and heavy lifting for our Thursday replacement! :)

Plans for Fantasy Ball:

I spoke with Dr Victoria on the phone and she can give us the same deal
at the club that we had at the museum: $10 cover + cash drinks, usually
it is $25 with 2 included drinks. Of course we get a much larger bar,
the only thing that we can't replicate from the museum is the exhibits
:(

"Kings of Hustler" is usually a ladies-only club with male dancers,
though she can also arrange to bring in female burlesque or provide a
mix. Thursday is generally a quiet night so she offered to close down
the club and make it a private affair if we want. Our choice. The club
entrance is private so people can wear whatever outrageous costumes they
want.

For quieter sections of the evening such as the Q&A we can move to a
roof-top space above the club. We probably would want to expand the
evening's activities a little to makeup for the lack of exhibits. One
idea would be to expand the burlesque activity from last year to take
advantage of the club's stage - mixing both amateur (pity party) and
professional performers.

Victoria also has an instructor who can offer $10 pole dance lessons. I
don't want to replace the Wednesday lesson at the Pole Fitness Studio
which can accommodate a much larger group (17 vs 8 poles) but I think it
would be fun to have a little refresher course prior to the main event.

PLUSES

1. We keep the same start time 8pm, same price structure as EHM. $10
cover.

2. Convenient location (6007 Dean Martin Dr, south end of the strip).
Plenty of parking.

3. We get a wider drink selection. The drink price ladder at the club is
$5, $6, $8 and $10. For Vegas, I think that is reasonable.

4. We know the management well and they are intimately familiar with the
existing EHM event. They will help decorate the place with balloons,
streamers etc.

5. We can be as risque as we want. If we are going to have 40-60 people
then we should simply make the event private. I assume that if it is
private we could make it non-smoking if we wanted.

6. We can keep/expand the burlesque portion of the evening. While I
personally prefer female dancers, given the wide range of DLV attendees
I think should have a mix of both male and female. I would love to allow
attendees to join in (ie. pity party) but that is mostly selfish as I
want be able to perform as well.

7. We could add an extra mini-pole dance lesson prior to the main event
($10 per student). Around 7-8pm.

8. As she owns/manages the club, we can keep the "Ask Dr Victoria"
segment. This can be upstairs on the roof.

MINUSES

1. No museum exhibits. No venue is going to be able to replicate that

2. Swap meet. Dr V wasn't sure if there would be space, but she will try
to work something out.

All, we have a venue, a price, and a plan. Concerns about high admission
price and high drink prices have been mitigated.

Here's the tick count summary of our straw poll as of Saturday morning
and the comments received with the responses. As we can see, the Fantasy
Ball at the Kings Of Hustler Club garnered the majority/plurality of the
votes or favorable mentions.

I'm OK with any of the choices, however my preferences are:

I vote for the Fantasy Ball, something a little different. Remember, we
had taken the Limo Tour off the agenda, to give it some rest. Let it
sleep a year.

Sorry I'm only familiar with the Artisan. And I still have a bad taste
for how they ripped us off. What's changed this year? A gay club is fine
by me, if it works. (Counted as no preference for venue.)

Is a stop at the Wax Museum the definition of expanded? If so, I'd go
with A. I don't see what that adds. I think it detracts.

One other thing that has NOT been mentioned with the dropping of EHM is the
"swap meet". Where girls could bring their gently used items they don't use
anymore and pick up others they mite want. Has that idea been completely
abandoned? I have a pile of things I was going to bring!

although I am not a fan of the Artisan.

This looks like a very interesting option and I would be quite keen to
use this venue however looking at the website and considering the nature
of Las Vegas I would see a couple of potential hurdles:

- Entry Cost is likely to be significant
- Drink prices are likely to be significant
- If its used as a private venue then we could dress and do as we please
(within reason) but if it is shared then that may be less easy to do

It sounds like we are making enquiries on this and I hope we get some
promising and workable responses. This would probably be a great
experience and certainly I can renew hopes of wearing my recently
acquired gown :-) (Counted as a favorable mention for the Fantasy Ball
and the Kings Of Hustler Club)

Kandi writes:

I called this club and asked Victoria Austin to return my call,
(Thursday). The gal who answered the phone is Toni and didn't seem to
have much info.( clueless). This club has 70,000 sq.ft of space.
Victoria manages the Male Revue which we might not be interested in
attending. Smoking is permitted. I have never visited this club but did
drive by and it's a huge facility. The original EHM event times were
8-10 PM.

When Dr. Austin returned my call last night she said she had already
made plans to move the EHM Diva event with An....It seems my efforts
were a duplication.
