Hi Annie,
It is bad news about the NAB convention and the costs will be a big hit
for some. IMHO, Annie is correct in her assessments that most people
won't want to stay far away off-Strip, and that they will want to avoid
the convention crowds and higher airfares that this huge convention will
bring.
Thanks for summarizing all the important schedule conflicts from
previous years that influence subsequent scheduling decisions. Many of
these were significant hits for people who highly value their attendance
at DLV (there were often quite emotional discussions at the time),
causing them to miss a year or years, and some haven't been back since.
The 2/3 majority vote that Annie refers to came about because of the
depths of feeling that scheduling discussions can create. So, the
upcoming vote to consider moving the scheduled 2006 dates is quite
significant. I hope that everyone keeps this depth of feeling in mind
as the discussion proceeds.
