This is true. However, I'm trying to avoid a situation that discourages
great numbers of our people from attending.

Yes, I agree that there's already some "single issue" campaigning for
certain timeframes.

It's up to us to determine which factors are just somebody's whim and
which benefit the group and the event as a whole.

I haven't heard any major bitching -- yet -- and what I'm trying to do
is to avoid bitching.

If we are to leave the dates as is, I cringe at what we're gonna hear
when people go to the Sahara web site and see $120-ish rates over the
DLV period and $53-ish rates one week either side of it.

I think we can use some common sense to realize which excuses are
trivial and which have merit. We also have a good handle on who is
really gonna show up and who is a chronic no-show.

I do want to hear from those who indeed want to attend, those whose
company I value, who might not be able to do so if we don't reschedule,
and from those who might not be able to do so if we do.
